Margy Beckmeyer is currently responsible for the information system that is used in the stabilization, packaging, and storage of plutonium-bearing material. Margy started her career with E.I.duPont de Nemours at the Savannah River Site in 1977 after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly UMR) in 1973 and her Masters of Science degree in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1975. Margy joined Westinghouse Savannah River Company when Westinghouse Electric took over the government contract in 1989. While at the Savannah River Site she has held a number of management positions in information technology, facility operations, analytical laboratories, quality assurance, training, assessment, and records management. She has been recognized by the Department of Energy for her contributions to the development of Department of Energy Quality Assurance Orders, Regulations, Guidance, and training materials.
Margy and her husband Russ, who also attended Missouri S&T, live in Aiken, South Carolina, and have three daughters, Kristin (who is currently attending Missouri S&T), Megan, and Keegan.
