About Pam Leitterman

Pam (Thebeau) Leitterman is a Business & Marketing Communications professional in the computer industry with expertise in executive and employee communications and training, customer communications, and analyst relations. Pam retired from Hewlett-Packard in 2007 after a 28-year career that included line management and staff positions in a wide variety of areas such as: customer experience communications, web management, product marketing, technical marketing, R&D program management and quality assurance. A strategic thinker, skilled in synthesizing complex ideas, Pam’s strengths also include executive level coaching, meeting facilitation, management of geographically- dispersed teams, and practical alignment of vision and tactics. Prior to working for Hewlett-Packard, Pam taught junior high mathematics in the Rolla Public Schools.

Pam is an active member of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (SV-IABC) and has served on its board of directors for three years. In 2007-08, as SV-IABC Director of Community, Pam helped launch the chapter's first Gift of Giving Event -- a lunchtime communications consultation of IABC members with non-profit organizations. The success of this event was a leading factor in her chapter earning the 2008 IABC Merit Award for Community.

In 2009-10, Pam chaired an Associate Pastor Nominating Committee for her Presbyterian church. She synthesized the use of a multiple low-cost technologies to manage the administrative details of the 19-month project. Under her leadership, a team of ten volunteers ranging in age from 17 to 80 conducted and analyzed research to develop a position description, conducted interviews, and selected a single candidate out of more than 145 applicants to recommend to church members. Their recommended candidate was approved unanimously by the congregation last fall.

More recently, Pam was the featured kick-off speaker for Women’s History Month at Missouri S&T in March 2011. Currently, Pam is a volunteer literacy tutor for adults. In addition to her volunteer work, Pam enjoys choral singing, reading, and cooking. Pam and her husband, Dennis, also a UMR graduate, reside in Sunnyvale, California. They have two grown sons.

Pam earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia, both in 1975.
