Bill Brune retired in 2015 from Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) as Lead Project Manager, Global Data Center Services with responsivity for Next Generation Data Center capacity and technology additions required for the separation of HP into two separate Fortune 50 companies (HP Inc. and HP Enterprises) and IT Infrastructure Data Center Technology Refresh both requiring strategic direction, capacity additions for thousands of physical servers, petabytes of storage, telecommunications and backups. During 12 years at HP Bill also held positions managing eCommerce and Supply Chain Systems Infrastructure Architecture and was the lead Infrastructure Architect for HP’s Data Center Consolidation.
Bill joined Texas Instruments (TI) after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from University of Missouri – Rolla in 1969. While working for TI and later Price Water House & Co. (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) Bill earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Houston in 1977. During his over forty year career Bill lead the distributed processing and office automation implementations at El Paso Natural Gas; installed the first Ethernet in Houston connecting Xerox workstations which pioneered the modern mouse driven user interface; managed the Houston Data Center for another pipeline company; and, held IT management positions in the environmental and health care fields.
In addition to the MST Academy of Computer Science, Bill is serving as the Secretary of the MST Alumni Board and is active with the MST Admissions Ambassador, the Student Design and Experiential Learning Center and the Houston Marathon.
